Artists - Diana Halliwell

Originally from Northampton, married and moved to Luton/Dunstable in Bedfordshire. In the 1980’s moved to Milford-on-Sea, Hampshire, Southbourne in Bournemouth and lately Mudeford, Christchurch. I started painting around 1991, and attended Brian Moore’s art classes for approximately five years. Then had two years with Mike Bragg and two years with Christine Bragg all at the Christchurch Adult Centre.

I am a member of Hengist Group of Artists, Christchurch Arts Guild and Highcliffe Arts Fellowship. I held my first exhibition with a friend in the Regent Centre, in Christchurch four years ago. I have exhibited with the various art groups in the Priory House, Christchurch, and the Red House Museum and exhibit with the Hengist Group of Artists at the Band Stand on Christchurch Quay, weekly from June to September. I have also been accepted and exhibited in Lyme Regis Open Exhibition, Southampton Arts Open Exhibition and with local art clubs. On my first attempt, I had a painting accepted at the Mall Gallery in London, with The Society of Women Artists in 2007. I work in watercolour, acrylics and oils. I find oils being the most enjoyable medium to work in. I am a member of the SAA.
