Joyce was born in Reading, and from the age of twelve got involved with painting the scenery for the school plays. She spent two years at the Maidenhead School of Art studying to become a commercial artist.

Her first job was in the artist department of a cardboard box manufacturer at Newbury, Berkshire, then as an assistant draughtswoman in the Borough Architects Department at Reading. One year was then spent as a mature art student at Windsor Technical College where an ‘A’ level in Art was achieved.

Joyce has exhibited at many local venues over the years, and has held exhibitions at the Regent Centre, Christchurch, for the last twenty six years.

Joyce won an award for her street scenes at a George Rowney contest and one of her drawings was selected for the official Christmas card by the Mayor and Mayoress of Christchurch. In recent years she has had paintings accepted for exhibitions by the Society of Women Artists at Westminster Hall, London.

Below are a selection of Joyce’s paintings.
